Some people have asked if we have given up on this blogsite and not posting any more photos!!! Well, we have not given up, we were just saving you from the boredom of more and more photos of the same thing. The plasterers have been tearing their hair out as they have been sheeting out everything that does not move, expressed piers, columns, bulkheads, recessed ceilings, hidden cupboards, wall opening for fish tank, etc etc. Brendan and his boys are doing a great job of following the architectural dream (or is that nightmare) and they are nearing completion of their works. Photos of the finished product will be published so stay tuned. Meanwhile, Andy and Chris have been working on the external ponds, bridges and now the pergola started today.

Slowly but surely the outside of the building nears completion. The pond has been tanked and the timber bridge constructed (and no it is not a draw bridge - but that is a good idea). The final render colour has been done around the front door area - although it is a little difficult to see what colour it is in this photo. Next to go will be the white wall - no, it is not going to remain white, no pies fans here. You will have to wait and see what finish goes on there!

The rear decking and part of the view out the back. The built in BBQ will be at the far end with Lyn's old outdoor furniture in the centre. The large galvanised object at the top centre-left of the photo is the rain water head which spills water out off the roof and into the pond. I can see plenty of beers and snags being consumed out here!!

For those who have not yet been up to our new home, this is the view out the back. Forget about the temporary builder's fence and the piles of dirt and mess and imagine it all completed. The land out the back will remain farmland until at least 2030. Our boundary is located where the temporary fence is currently located. And no that is not a spa, it is another pond.

The ponds have been completed. This one is in the central courtyard and once the waterproofing has dried , it will be filled via the chain downpipe off the roof. The stained cypress pine timber bridge has been done and will be cleaned off and recoated on completion of the external works.

The steel framed stair is in place and Andy and Chris have turned joiners by cutting and fitting the timber treads. The steel will be painted black and the timber treads will be stained in a dark stain. The next step (excuse the pun) is the stainless steel balusters.
