The boss runs a keen eye over the workmanship. The kitchen cupboard installation can be seen in the background with caesarstone top to the island bench and stainless steel to the back benches yet to be completed.

Feature tiles at the end of the bath in the upstairs bathroom.

Finished tiled feature wall in the upstairs bathroom. As can be seen by the shower waster location, the shower is to the left of the bath hob. Wes is doing a great job on the tiling with the setout being a priority.

More colour being added to the house. The end wall of the lounge has had each side panel painted to match the main passage. The wall between is the TV wall which is to be wall papered with a dark patterned paper.

Looking out from the dining area towards the rear decking and Mike's attempt at a sculpture for the rear pond - albeit currently done in plywood.

If approval is given by the boss then it will be laser cut from mild steel and installed in the pond to rust away to nothing.

Next on the list for metal design is the external fire box and letter box - stay tuned for more.............

Wes the tiler has started laying floor tile in all the wet areas and this photo show the entry foyer. The tile is called wet cement which is certainly appropriate given the look of it.

Finally some colour on the walls to add something to the house other than black, dark grey or light grey. This shot is taken from the upper level bedroom door looking down the double height stairwell. However, once David had painted the wall we realised that it was too pink so Raphael or was it Donatello? remixed the paint to take out the pink and put in some "rust" - now for the repaint and final approval.

The Chief closely inspecting and checking the feature wall panelling to the kitchen and bar area. The first of the cupboards in this area have been installed in the bar and a couple of wines followed shortly thereafter.
Some of the kitchen colours are now starting to appear. Balance of kitchen joinery is due this week and then the flooring goes in.

Shelving has been installed to one side of the garage and no sooner was it installed than it was being used to store old take away coffee cups and left over material which did not quite make it to the skip

Materials stored in the garage ready for installation including more floor and wall tiles and the 30mm thick sandstone slabs. I could hear the tiler's back crack when I told him that these are destined for the high side of the garage wall.

Photo of the main bedroom with David the painter sitting down on the job - I think it is because he is stilltrying to work out what colour goes where - in this main bedroom alone there is 6 colours alone - and I think David has painted seven colours - even I don't know anymore - but it does look good. The yellow panels are the doors - and I have been told that I must take after my dad (he is colourblind)

Looking from the front entry area towards the stair. The walls and piers are starting to show up more with highlighted colours. I love the light filled stairwell area and the wall colour has added to the brightness of that space shown in the background here.

A little bit of paint and shades of colour have transformed the blandness of the plaster and highlighted the bulkheads and piers. The yellow (ochre) is one of the doors and does not belong in this room but it does show part of the colour theme of the house. This photo is taken from the lounge room looking up to the meals and kitchen areas

David the painter (Davey to some) and Paul (Pauley to some) have started splashing some paint around. It took David some time to understand the different areas for the different shades of colour but he is on top of it now - looking good.

Joinery has been going in over the last week or so and this is a photo of the joinery in the library.

The hole in the wall is for the fish tank which you can see from both sides - the library and the meals area

The boys have completed the cypress pine framed pergola in the central courtyard. It has been stained to match the bridge across the fish pond (cement pond??)

Gradually the pond is being filled from the rain water

The chain down pipe has also been installed in the central courtyard and supplying water into the central pond - the fish can't wait for all that extra swimming room.

The front entry pond is now being slowly filled with the light rain we have had and the water running down the chain down pipe off the roof. The fascia to the entry roof has been lined with Monument black colorbond and the entry soffit has been lined and awaiting sanding prior to being painted - colour to match monument.
